Sunday Funday at Rancho Las Lomas - Silverado, CA
"Sunday Funday" at Rancho Las Lomas surely has to be one of the sweetest, most mellow ways I've seen to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon with the kids. Rancho Las Lomas and several participating vendors threw an interactive event benefitting the Orangewood Children's Foundation and showcasing several local event companies as well as a couple of zoological/ornithological organizations, which made it REALLY exciting for both young and young-at-heart.
Live reptiles and easy crafts for children were available courtesy of Inside the Outdoors.
That is a REAL BALD EAGLE, visiting the event via the OC Bird of Prey Center, an educational organization that facilitates the rehabilitation and release of recovered birds of prey. Funny story: Matt used to volunteer for that organization in high school. He could tell you a lot more about raptors than you'd ever need to know.

RLL Exotics was also present with the sweetest, most affectionate parrots I've ever seen. Perfect for children to handle, as well as adults unfamiliar with parrots.
Of course, what's an event featuring carnival atmosphere without Dolly's Sweet Dreams Premium Cotton Candy?
Rancho Las Lomas' exclusive caterer 24 Carrots brought the burgers and 1/4-lb hot dogs!
Shutterbooth had a photobooth on deck for all kinds of silly faces.
Bright sunny fun on a bright and sunny Sunday. I'm kind of in the mood for a picnic at the zoo now!
